Hello, I'm Hex, the creator of this carrd.Before you read the the rest of the things i prepared for you,
i would like you to know a few things:1. All the things (besides the symbols section) were written by me, based on the official lore and info.2. I used things such as genshin wiki, the story quest dialouges, and other sources to make it. Its not my personal story.4. Most importantly: Please don't use this site as a source to spread information about Baizhu. Everything here besides things labeled as speculated are official, yet I'm doing this simply for my love and admiration to the character, I may still make mistakes, and this site is not 100% trusted with canon info.5. I apologize for any spelling or grammar mistakes. English is my non-native language. I am a young student.5. Have fun getting to know Baizhu!
This carrd was made for fun, as hes my favourite character and is my hyperfixation.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐠'𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭.

Long time ago, plauges and sicknesses ravaged the land, there was a doctor that made a pledge to get rid of the peoples suffering.
Yet, even the best medicine couldn't make the disease go away.
There were a certain legend at that time. It said that there was a Herblord that could cure any illnesses to ever exist.
The poor doctor decided to go and find him, only to seek a snake, a white snake with amber eyes resting on a rock. Though there was something wrong, the snake was tired and weak.
''Sign this conract, lets bond our lives, it will grand you the secret art of healing. Yet, be warned - It will hurt your own body.'' - It said.
The snake's conract was simple, or was it? The rules were as followed:
Whoever sealed the deal could give a portion of their own life force to others. They could also transfer many diseases from their patients to their own body.
Very useful for doctors, right? Of course. Yet they had to pay a price with it.
With every piece of life for being taken, the contracters became weaker, and with every disease tranfered - they became more and more sick.
That makes it clear that the doctor died a few years after accepting the deal.
Before his death, he had a task to pass on the contract. He did it, passed it to his favourite disciple.
Then generation upon generation followed the same path, dedicating their lives for others.
Then, it got to Baizhu.
''What would happened if i don't seal the deal?'' - he asked. The answer was pretty logical - the snake would die without a host.
Then, It was decided right away. Baizhu signed the contract, like many and many others did before him.
So, when will it all end? Who's next to follow the path?
No one.
''This contract will end with me.''

Now why exacly would Baizhu seek immortality?Many says hes obsessed with it, he wants to become immortal to ensure Changsheng has one and only host left, so no one else would suffer from the contract ever again. If he was immortal, he could heal others foreber, helping those in need, not worrying about the death hes reaching faster than ordinary people. Also Changsheng would die without a host, so thats why she needs one.

𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐢𝐳𝐡𝐮 (updated every now and then)

He's not a fan of sweets, what type of doctor doesn't follow a healthy and balanced diet?But...even though he doesn't eat much sugar, after swallowing his medicine he must eat candied fruits to get rid of the aftertaste. (That's the guy who says ''the bitter the better'' btw).Hu tao is extremely suspicious of him, making them have not much of a friendly relationship. An interesting dynamic.He swapped eyes with Changsheng, probably as the rest of the conractors from all former generations. He was given magenta eye color at his birth, switching the coulour to amber with the snake when signing the contract.He likes to drink a cup of tea in the morning.Baizhu helps Changsheng with writing.His hobby is sorting medication, finding it relaxing.In one of his voicelines, Baizhu talks about some mushrooms in sumeru having hallucinative effects, saying that he plans on taking a few of them the next time he has a trip, and testing them on himself.Baizhu braids Qiqi's hair, Changsheng seems to help him sometimes (confirmed in the Qiqi bd25 art)Baizhu showing his stomach was probably based on the practice of exposing one's midriff is belived to faciliatate the circulation of warm ''qi'' energy around internal organs. Chinese men had rolled up their shirts to embrace this belief. (The qi energy (life force) is stricly related to Baizhu as he can for example give it away to others)If there is a patient, who is delusional about having some deadly disease, and just being dramatic without a reason, Baizhu gives them tasteless pills made of flowers, to calm them down, if saying ''youre fine'' doesn't work.He admires Xiao.

Disclaimer: Info here was gathered by doctor_zhubai on twitter. I give the credits to them. For now this is the only info that wasn't researched personally by me.

These symbols are shaped as lingh zhi which is seen in yu ji. A ru ji is a scepter with a head shape of a lingzhi or cloud which is used as ceremonial scepter, talisman or even a back scratcher before it was regarded into a scepter.

Of course thats a refernce Changsheng, and her snake scales, but the overall idea might have even more to it. It might've been inspired by a story.
There is multiple allusions to snakes in Baizhu's design which may be a reference to madame white snake which is a legend centered around a snake spirit named bai suzhen and her pharmacist lover xu xian. Bai suzhen was a snake spirit who gained powers from eating immortality pills after getting it from xu xian without him knowing. They marry and open a pharmacy together. Xu xian finds out eventually that she was a snake and dies out of shock. The lingzhi mushroom mentioned earlier is sometimes depicted to be the herb that brings xu xian back to life.

Baizhu's constellation is laganaria which is a gourd. Gourds are a symbol of health in ancient china. Mnay doctors hold a gourd which carry medicine. It is also associated with one of the eight immortals, li tieguai, who also carries a gourd that could cure any illness. It was also said that he was insane and has a really bad temper but he was really nice and fought for the poor and sick people.
The main lesson of the eight immortals is how they were ordinary people who were noticed by the gods because they suffered injustice and gave more than they could. (For a fun fact, Zhongli's name is associated with another of of the eigh immortals - Zhongli quan.)

These are just predictions, keep in mind they may not be 100% canon, and they themselves were made shortly after the release of Baizhu. Once again i am giving the credit for the symbols section to doctor_zhubai on twitter, please go follow them.

!This section is not official info, these are my personal headcanons, which mean they are not proved canon. This section exist for fun only, mostly only for my as my archive to release my inner nerd, i also wanna clarify that all these headcanons do not happen in the same universe, i love to imagine at least a few universes for a lot of characters etc.!

1. Baizhu as a part-snakeImagine if Baizhu got some of snakes body parts while agreeing to pact. In my head he would have a longer tounge, a few scales here and there, and maybe a bit of a snake vision - which is a bit connected to the next headcanon which is..2. Snake vision
As we know, Baizhu had magenta/purple-red-ish eyes but he switched with Changsheng, i like to think that he has just a bit of a snakes vision, and Changsheng has a bit of a human one3. Experiments
In some universe, it would be cool to see him as a bit of a crazy (but still kind) doctor (nope, not dottore) who is just CRAZILY obsessed with immortality. And when i say crazy i mean it, imagine if he had a hidden lab with maybe living beings, from which he takes some parts here and there to provide some sort of progress in his experiments. Imagine if he maybe even had people as test objests?
The whole vision is that he would be sad and a bit miserable in all this, not wanting to hurt anyone, but feeling the pressure to do it because you know, if he can spare a few then he can save thousands.
(Please don't think about is as a Dottore kind of thing, i do not like him and i don't mean to portait Baizhu like a character Dottore is.)4. Sucrose as his sister
Did anyone not realise of how similar Sucrose is to Baizhu? I remember that when he wasn't realeased yet i would say that i was gonna be mad if mihoyo doesn't make them canon siblings, and i guess they didn't so thats another headcanon!
Sucrose lives in Mondstandt, i think Baizhu would send her tellers and vice versa. He would visit once a while and maybe give her tips on her chemical experiments?5. Overdosing
I know things got dark pretty quick, i just love angst. This may kind of be connected to the mark no. 3, but it is fine any other way also. I think he would overdose his medicine, just to be able to finish his work, ignoring his need for rest or eating or other basic activities. As long as he gets the work done, its fine.
I like to imagine that Changsheng scolds him for risking so much taking too much meds sometimes, and she wants to hurt him somehow as a punishement and warning, but she knows it won't help much and will just cause more pain.
Also i think Baizhu would be sleeping for like 20hrs straight after taking too many meds, maybe even more but when he has a patient to take care of he will help no matter if he got 20, 5, or 0 hours of sleep. (That man gets NO sleep in his life)6. Being high sometimes lmao
Now understand i ain't trying to portray him as a drug addict and a bad influence, this part is more cheerfull and funny than the previous one.
In the facts section i wrote about Baizhu talking about wanting to test some hallucanitive mushrooms on himself, and i think he would do these things more than once, just to test the new samples for possible new medication.
Imagine going to Baizhu with a broken leg and he's just there zoning out cause he ate 5 poisonous sumeru mushrooms lmao7. Matcha lover, would do matcha precedures/rituals.8. If Baizhu was a pokemon, he would be Servine!That part is also updated still, when i feel like it! Thanks for reading.
